Dear Sir/Madam:
As Director of the IV ITLA World Congress, titled “Re-Enchanting Terraces” and of the Organization Committee, I am pleased to announce its celebration in March 2019 in the Canary Islands and part of the islands of Macaronesia.
Thanks to the objectives successful during the three congresses held, and with the encouragement of goals in the terraced territory around the world, will be celebrate the IV ITLA World Congress on March 2019, organized by the Government of the Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores Islands and Cape Verde, Islands Councils also, coordinated from ITLA and the Landscape Observatory of the Canary Islands.
The terraces designs landscapes, are clues and signs of the culture of the peoples that live in such areas and tangible and intangible inheritance passed down from generation to generation.
Since its creation (2010), the International Terraced Landscapes Alliance (ITLA) has been committed to reminding us of their existence and reinventing them as active, usable resources to cater for the new social demands.
